About: Tony Pettis- Creative Director of Native Co.

Tony Clerence Pettis is an 18 year old Native/African american artist. He has created art in ways and forms unimaginable to the human mind. Tony states that "every living creature holds a certain value to the earth, which is the base for all artistic creativity." Tony' s expressive Native American Art and fashion carries an abundance of sacred value to him. He 's been creating art for as long as he can remember. Being raised in a household where just about everyone was gifted in some form or another, Tony was always pushed to stay on top of his game. Tony attended William Henry Spencer High School where he was asked to join the AP(Advanced Placement) art class. He was a bit hesitant at first, but after meeting Robyn Watson (art teacher) he began to build a friendship with her, and joined the program shortly after. Before High School, the majority of Tony's work was mostly judged upon his own personal liking, but once he began his new journey as a high school student taking an advanced art class, things were a little different. He soon learned that he was to complete a portfolio and then it was to be judged by college board officials .The scoring ranged from 1-5 (3-5 passing) after a tedious year of working on his art portfolio Tony earned a 3. Mr. Pettis was the first student in 6 years to have passed the exam.Even though he passed the exam, he wasn 't pleased, the following year after learning the ins and outs of the AP art program, he retook the exam by recreating an entire years worth of new art and scored a 4. Tony recently ended his high school career graduating 5/21/2016."Tony continues to share his art with the world through fashion and canvas. He will continue to push the envelope and build to his legacy that is Native Co.
